I started the office shift out per usual by checking emails and listening to any voicemails that had been left from the weekend. We had quite a few questions in regard to campers being able to attend a camp due to their age. There are two main types of camps at the university, ones that are considered youth camps and the others are considered “prospect age” camps. Many kids are close to the cut-off points for age and parents inquire about them being eligible for a prospect camp. Typically if they are not the age at least 2 weeks before the camp, we cannot let them in as it is a liability issue for the team and camp staff. We also had some parents reach out for refunds, camp dates, and what their campers needed for camp. We typically send out confirmation emails that have all of the confirmed details of the camp, but many think that it gets sent right after registering. We also post all information on our website, but many people miss the information. We had a few parents reach out about the spirit club as well as upcoming events and how they could receive the items that were included in the membership. We had a few calls throughout the day that touched on the same questions that were received in the email. I also registered a few campers over the phone and did over-the-phone payments as well. After registering those campers, I had to print out reports for each registration and deposit their payments through our system.
