I worked one of my few office shifts of the week on Monday. The building decided to redo our floor which meant the interns had no space during the renovation time other than the conference room. We had to adjust and put our stations together in the conference room so we could continue to work. We had the issue of our phone not working in the conference room. This interfered with some of our duties that we are responsible for when it comes to our office work. Throughout the day, we would receive voicemail messages through our email. We could then try to search through our system to find their information and assist them in the best way possible. It was a little difficult because many people would not put important information, such as a name, so we had to dig to find the phone number or any other indicator that was put in the voicemail to try and assist them. We tend to handle a majority of questions from parents or guardians through email or phone calls. Today we had the unique situation of a parent coming up to our floor in the building regarding a situation at a camp. This typically does not happen as you have to have access to the elevator in our building as well as any floor, but this parent had worked in the building. The rest of my time in the office I sorted medical waivers for the camps throughout the week and continued to monitor the emails.
