I was assigned to work the men’s gymnastics camp that was being held at noon today. I was working with someone else who had already grabbed the box from the office that contained all the necessary materials. We had to arrive about an hour early to get set up and communicate with the coaches and the trainers. We were informed that there was a possibility that walk-up campers might show up to participate in the camp as there were multiple late-night registrations the day before. We then started checking in after the coach gave approval. We had a fairly smooth check-in process with two walk-up campers who tried registering the night before. We had to explain that they were not being charged twice but rather getting refunded for one registration as it did not get processed on the camp department's end. One parent was fairly understanding and apologetic for registering last minute while another parent got upset for being charged twice. We tried to reiterate that she would be refunded for one of the charges as soon as possible and that we have to approve registrations on our end. Due to it being a weekend, we could not approve the registration on our end so that is why we had to charge her twice. We then got in contact with our supervisor to be made aware of the situation and to refund the parents who were charged twice when they could. We had to call one camper who had not shown up yet to confirm wether or not they were attending. We then checked with the coaches to see if they needed anything else from us.
