Today, I was the only one doing the check-in for the game day prep camp for the baseball team. As a student lead, I am allowed to work check-ins by myself with no supervisor on site. Supervisors still make themselves available during the time of the camp by phone if anything were to occur that we as students could not answer. The check-in started fairly early, about 9 a.m. I had to go pick up the necessary materials for the check-in before the time I was supposed to arrive which was 8:30 a.m. This camp was set up differently because the campers were bringing their waivers to the camp. I had to only bring my laptop for check-in and extra blank waivers in case a camper forgot theirs, and parking forms. Once I arrived at the camp, I set up my materials and met with the coach to discuss how he wanted the check-in to run. After a system had been established, I checked in campers and collected the proper paperwork for the camp. I also helped many spectators and parents with parking and guiding them where to go once they arrived. The only problem during the check-in was that the athletic trainer had been running late, so there was nobody to review the medical history with campers other than myself. I relayed the information to the coach and gave the waivers to him. After that, I asked if he needed anything else from me before I left. I then returned to the office to drop off the materials that were used and touched base with my supervisors about how the check-in process went.
