Tuesday 2/20/24 Journal Entry

Today is not typically a day I work, but I was scheduled to work a cheer camp today. I had to pick up the materials from the office before heading over to the camp location. I also had someone else working with me due to the cheer team selling gear at the camps. Once I arrived at the facility, I set both tables up for gear sales and check-in and met with the coach on how he wanted things to run. He actually mentioned that he was not doing gear sales for the camp due to many of the participants being repeat attendees. After speaking with him, I asked if he knew who the trainer was for the clinic and he said he was not informed of who would be covering it. I had to check the sign-up sheet for trainers, and nobody had signed up to cover the camp. I then had to get in contact with my supervisor and have them reach out to the main athletic trainer. We then had to make the situation an “on-call” situation until the main athletic trainer volunteered to come in as soon as they could. I communicated with the coach about how many were left at the end of check-in and updated him about the athletic trainer situation. I mentioned how we would stay after the check-in time as traffic was heavy due to a concert on campus. I checked in with the coach one more time to see if he needed anything else from me.
