Today was the last day of my office shifts for the week. I started checking the emails from the past day and early morning and listening to a few voicemails as well. Since it is spring break at the university, I am the only intern that had been in for the week. This meant there was more work for me to do than usual. We had multiple inquiries about basketball camps but we have not finalized the dates for both men's and women's basketball, so we had to give them estimates on when they would be hosted and posted on our website. We also had some questions in regard to hockey camp and football camp. Many parents had questions about age requirements for the hockey camp and others were asking about where they were on the waitlist for the camp. For football, many had questions about registration. The team hosts a 7 on 7 camp every year and we had a coach who thought they had registered for the camp. We did some research and found out that he had only registered for the coaches clinic not the 7 on 7 and the camp had already met capacity. We did tell the coach that he did not have a spot in the camp but since the waitlist is so lengthy, they ae exploring the possibility of opening up a second 7 on 7 camp for high school students. We also had some teams interested in registering for the women’s volleyball team camp as well. The registration process is different when registering a team, they have to reach out to the director of operations for the team and they will organize save spots for those teams. Once I finished going through the emails, I continued my certification project and got assigned another project by my supervisor.
