Today I worked some office hours for the camps and clinics department. This includes responding to emails and calls and doing any projects that are needed to be done. I had about 40 emails to go through today and a few calls to answer as well. No major projects were needed to be done when checking in this morning with the professional staff in the camps and clinics department. There are small projects to do such as organizing because they are redoing the office floor currently and what is considered the intern desk is no longer going to be in the office. So all interns, including event management, were to go through the area and clean out shelves and drawers of items and discard what was deemed unimportant. From there I went back to responding to parents about their questions regarding camps. Many situations tend to pop up regarding parents attempting to bargain their way into a camp after it has met capacity or requesting a refund for a camp that their camper can no longer attend. Many will wait until after the cutoff date to request a refund, this makes it difficult as the majority of the time they are no longer eligible for one. Currently, a cheer camp sold out within days of it being online to register. Many parents have been emailing to see if their child can get into the camp, but there is a lengthy waitlist and a firm cap on the camp capacity. Informing parents that there are no options other than joining a waitlist tends to be difficult because they try all options of getting their child into a camp after being told they cannot register.
